I tried 120 aswell but I realized it'd be too much detail for sprites.

Well, I suppose you could use 120 FPS, if you actually want to spend a good few making a thirty second animation.

Hell, it'd probably be a lot longer.

Seriously though what the flying fuck was going through your head when you thought that would be a good idea.

kane, no one animates at that, or at least no one with a fucking brain. Video games run at 60 FPS and TV shows and movies run at 24-30 if I remember correctly.

120FPS is DOUBLE the game limit which is insane.

Animating at 120 fps will take a long time, 20-40 is usually good enough.

Of course that's not always true because a too high FPS can make things just as choppy.

If you really wanna figrue out how many sprites you need for every pose in 120 fps...

use math to find it out...

More details don't really mean better animation. Yeah it contributes a lot, but it's not the only thing.

Also, why the hell would anyone would try to actually animate over 30 frames per second. Think of it, do you really need all the damn frames? Animating is hard enough already, let alone animate 120 fucking frames just for getting a damn SECOND done. That's a bit overkill, no?

I'm happy with 24 FPS. I'm not a "Fighter" Animator more comedy so it serves all the purposes i need it to do

I thought about this briefly and realized, there is zero reasons as to why you should use 120.

120 frames is a lot of frames for one second. And, try to picture a 120 FPS animation, if you were honestly making it at 120 FPS, like it was designed to be made for that. It just doesn't make sense. I don't really think the human eye can track all that movement in one second anyways, also, a lot of those frames would be duplicates just so we can see the dang sprite from the start!

The highest that I think you can use that will still be bearable and worth it is 60. And that still is something you shouldn't use, because honestly there is no reason to be using such a high FPS. I mean, 30-45 is really the cap off. Doesn't have to go any higher, because after that, you're animating frames that will more than likely not get noticed. And who would want that? ;P
